.
Renewable energies will account for 49.6% of electricity production in Germany in 2022, according to Fraunhofer ISE. Solar power jumped by 19% thanks to the increase in installed solar capacity (which rose by 7.9 GW in 2022 according to SolarPower Europe) and the sunny weather in 2022.
Renewable energy sources produced almost 244 TWh in 2022, an increase of 7.4% on 2021.

Solar energy accounted for more than 5% of total electricity generation in the United States in the first 10 months of 2022. Solar production has increased by 26% since the beginning of the year, according to data published by the US Energy Information Administration.
Renewable energies accounted for 23% of US electricity consumption over this period. They have increased by 14% over the last twelve months. Net national electricity production rose by 3%.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) and NREL have issued a second call for applications to develop cybersecurity solutions to secure renewable energy assets. Applicants will be asked to provide "solutions that actively identify all industrial control system assets connected to a utility's infrastructure, both physically and virtually, to understand the totality of assets that need to be monitored and protected in the environment."
