The IEA has called for a simplification of licensing procedures for renewables in a 10-point plan published last year. The aim is to reduce the EU's dependence on Russian gas. The European Commission has decided to cut red tape related to permitting and deployment in order to speed up the uptake of renewable energy.

Editor's note: We only hear about the difficulties of the photovoltaic industry: one day it is the lack of panel production in Europe; another day it is a lack of manpower, the slowness in obtaining authorisations, ... This is largely due to the growth of the profession (+ 47% in 2022 over 2021). It is difficult to adjust the job offer to the applications! As for authorisations, the desire of administrations to control everything explains the delay, whatever the injunctions of the European Commission.
