Printing of the 25th edition of Intersolar Europe
1,077 exhibitors, 40,000 visitors expected from 165 countries
According to the opening message at Intersolar Europe, the growth of the solar industry is imminent as prices are falling sharply, which is prompting users to install storage systems and smart grids. In just a few years, solar photovoltaics has gone from being the most expensive energy to the cheapest, already reaching $0.07/kWh in some parts of the world.

In the years to come we will reach 0.05 $/kWh. This is the result of an increase in installed volumes as a consequence of the fall in prices. In Germany, surveys indicate that 85 percent of the population want PV to be the energy of the future.
The Storage Exhibition (EES Europe) brought together 213 exhibitors, 40 percent more than last year. Currently, one third of all new solar installations in Germany are equipped with storage. This percentage will increase considerably: after 2020, the reduction in feed-in tariffs will provide an incentive for system owners to install storage systems. The price reduction (10 to 20 % per year) should stimulate installations.
Impression of the second day, visitors were numerous in the aisles of Intersolar. A little more visitors were expected (40,000) than in 2015 (35,000). Crowds were dense in the halls where the various storage solutions and e-mobility were presented. The directors of the major PV companies expressed their satisfaction: JinkoSolar spoke of "the ongoing consolidation of the European market and its future, which has been boosted above all by storage systems. The price drop of 20 to 30% each year explains the interest of the visitors". The manager of Kaco confirms: "it's not the 60,000 tourists of the boom years, but 40,000 visitors concerned, it's better".
Solar Power Europe has published a document presenting the good practices of the "operation and maintenance" market, which First Solar welcomed, indicating that it was a first step towards the establishment of an industrial standard and a reference point for the reliability and performance of power plants
