Global investments in the first half of the year in renewable energies, solar energy and large power plants
Global investment in renewable energy reaches $226 billion in the first half of the year, down
by 12% over last year. Of this amount, solar (including solar thermal) raised $120 billion (+33% over last year).
66 billion was invested in large-scale solar power plants, including $41 billion in China, and $7.5 billion in the United States.
Renewable energy investment is reaching new heights in China as recurring Covid-19 outbreaks and a depressed real estate market threaten the world's second-largest economy, according to BloombergNEF.
