The French government has identified 859 degraded sites for the deployment of industrial-scale solar farms.

All the sites listed are classified

in the category of derelict sites, which offers certain advantages in the calls for tenders for industrial-scale photovoltaic projects organised by the French energy regulator.

Portugal is going to stop requiring environmental impact assessments for new solar projects with a capacity of less than 50 MW, in order tospeed up the deployment of photovoltaics. Other measures are being studied to decarbonise the economy as quickly as possible.
