Stabilisation of the composition of a perovskite cell for the equivalent of 3.7 years.

The incorporation of guanidinium in perovskite solar cells stabilises their efficiency at 19% for a period of 1,000 hours (or the equivalent of 3.7 years) in tests in full sunlight.

The scientists were able to show that the guanidinium cation (CH6N3+) is incorporated into the crystalline structure of perovskite, improving the thermal and environmental stability of the material.
