Ultra-thin 2D perovskite solar cell with 18.3% efficiency

American and French scientists have developed an ultra-thin 2D perovskite solar cell with an efficiency of 18.3%. It has been built

with improved electron flow and three times the electron conduction of the perovskite material. The new cell was designed after it was found that when sunlight hits a 2D perovskite cell, it contracts the space between the atomic layers of the material.
