Study on the benefits of flexible consumption in Europe

According to DNV, European consumers could save €71 billion by 2030 through flexible consumption. Among the results presented,

In particular, it is explained that if the flexibility of buildings, electric vehicles and industry were fully activated, the situation in 2030 would be as follows

37.5 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions saved ;

11.1 to 29.1 billion euros saved in investments in the distribution network;

71 billion euros would be saved directly by consumers;

15.5 TWh (61%) would correspond to the avoided reduction of renewable energy.

2.7 billion could be injected into peak production capacity.

Editor's note: Presenting a result without specifying how it is obtained creates doubt about its reliability. Admittedly DNV is a serious organisation, but as the study is commissioned by an organisation that wants to rely on this document to achieve a goal, it is suspect.

On a more serious note, if there are 500 million Europeans, the study would achieve a reduction of 142 euros per year per capita through flexible consumption. Is the idea worth considering?
