* The National Assembly definitively adopts the Energy-Climate Bill

by 95 votes in favour and 16 against. The law imposes a 40% reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels by 2030. The last four coal-fired power stations in metropolitan France will be closed before the end of the five-year period, and all the buildings known as "thermal sieves" will have to be renovated within 10 years.

* CRE's reflections and proposals on the subject of storage

CRE is asking network operators to study the introduction of an ad hoc status for storage operators; to simplify and clarify the procedures for processing connection requests for storage facilities; to publish their flexibility requirements; and to draw up a roadmap on the transformation of their network sizing methods.

* China is cornering the lithium battery recycling market

China recycled nearly 67,000 tonnes of lithium-ion batteries in 2018, or 69% of all products available for recycling worldwide, according to the UK-based Circular Energy Storage. In South Korea, 18,000 tonnes were recycled, mainly for the Chinese market.

In 2019, 100,000 tonnes will be recycled...

THE WORLD

* We have not yet really managed to integrate local production into the network.

In the United States, where photovoltaic and storage facilities are the most developed, the integration of distributed resources varies from one state to another with varying fortunes. It's not just batteries. All household appliances must be taken into account: air conditioners, water heaters, refrigerators, pumps and other machines that run on electricity at the user's home, but also electric vehicles. The problem is that residential production and consumption is the sole responsibility of the users. At the moment, integration into the grid is difficult.
