Global financing of the solar industry
Since the start of the year, financing for the solar industry has remained high. Corporate financing stands at 28.9 billion dollars,
a 55% increase on last year's $18.7 billion, says Mercom Capital.
"Project developers and independent power producers were the most active acquirers of solar projects in the third quarter of 2023 - at 2GW - followed by insurance companies, pension funds, trading companies and other investors. with 2 GW - followed by insurance companies, pension funds, energy trading companies, industrial conglomerates and IT companies with a total of 1.6 GW. "says Mercom.
"Investment companies acquired 959 MW; electric utilities acquired 877 MW; and oil and gas companies acquired 759 MW of projects."
