JinkoSolar in the second quarter: strong growth

In the second quarter, JinkoSolar shipped 17.8 GW of solar panels (up 36% on the first quarter), including 10.4 GW of N-type panels (up 74%). The company posted sales of

30.7 billion RMB ($4.2 billion), an increase of 63% over Q2 2022 and +31% overQ1 2023. The fall in the price of silicon reduced the price of panels in Q2: the gross margin was only RMB 4.8 billion ($659.6 million), compared with RMB 4.04 billion in Q1.

The company expects N-type products to account for nearly 60% of its panel shipments in 2023, following the completion of plants in Shanxi (China) and the US. TOPCon cell efficiency reached 25.5% at the end of the second quarter

Over 2023, the company expects to ship 70 to 75 GW.
