RWE in Q1: few comparatives; decline in ebitda from wind+solar

In thefirst quarter of 2023, the German energy group RWE is forecasting a profit before depreciation, amortisation, provisions, interest and tax of €2.8 billion.

Adjusted consolidated net profit for the quarter is expected to be €1.7 billion, compared with €1.6 billion for the same period last year.

Following the acquisition of Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses at the end of February, the company's US portfolio of solar photovoltaic and wind projects has grown to 8 GW. The company (RWE Clean Energy) is now the second largest solar owner and operator in the US and the fourth largest renewable energy company in the country.

Q1 ebitda in the wind - onshore solar segment is expected to be €247 million compared to €318 million achieved in Q1 2022, a decline of 22.3%.

For 2023 as a whole, the company is forecasting adjusted ebitda for onshore wind and solar of between €1.1 billion and €1.5 billion.
