The long queue of plants waiting to be connected to the grid in the US
Almost 1 terawatt of solar PV capacity was in the US interconnection queue at the end of 2022. In addition to this, 300 GW
of wind waiting to be connected to the transmission grid, almost the same amount as the entire US installed base of electricity.
If you add storage to the renewables waiting to be interconnected, that's nearly 2 TW in the queue at the end of last year, a 40% increase over last year
