Likely ban on imports from Xinjiang, China

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act,

which aims to ban imports from the Chinese region of Xinjiang. This law has yet to be passed by the Senate.

The Act requires a list of entities that collaborate with the Chinese government in Xinjiang to be compiled in order to prohibit the entry of these goods into the US. The "rebuttable presumption" clause assumes that all goods originating in Xinjiang are manufactured with forced labour, and are therefore prohibited, unless the US Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) makes an exception.
