Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Mingyang Smart Energy wants to build a panel factory
with a capacity of 5 GW. It plans to invest RMB3bn ($465m) to manufacture cells and panels. A first phase of 1 GW will be completed by the end of 2021. Another gigawatt will be commissioned at the end of 2022.

The world's No. 1 cell maker, Tongwei, raised its prices on Wednesday, five days after another price increase: polycrystalline and single/double-sided PERC cells (166 mm) rose by 7 cents to RMB 0.83 (+9.2%) and RMB 0.99 (+7.7%) per watt respectively. The price of 158.75 mm single/double-sided PERC and 210 mm single/double-sided PERC cells was set at RMB 1.02 (+6.3%) and RMB 0.99 (+6.5%) per watt, respectively, with an increase of 6 cents.

The world's leading wafer manufacturer LONGi is increasing its prices. The G1 format (158.75 mm) now costs 4.39 RMB, i.e. 12% more. The M6 format (166 mm) costs 4.49 RMB (+12.3%). The M10 format (182 mm) costs RMB 5.39 (+10.9%).
