Study on panels placed on the facades of buildings
The German institute Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) will study the behaviour and energy production of three façades covered with building-integrated solar panels. CIGS panels were chosen.
supplied by the German manufacturer Avancis. 360 will be installed with a unit power of 135 watts.
The aim of the study is to find out the effect of weather conditions, dust, rain and pollution on the behaviour and performance of the panels. Another axis of analysis is the speed of air circulation behind the panels, as well as the importance of irradiation on the façade panels.
The objective is to prepare buildings to receive photovoltaic panels and to measure their contribution. The more they will be numerous, the more their cost will decrease. Once their effects are well known, it will be possible to integrate the installation of such panels into the technical regulations for buildings.
