Enel wants to build 498 MW in the Atacama Desert (Chile).

The Italian company Enel wants to build 498 MW in the Atacama Desert (Chile). The first project is called PV Taltal.

(317 MW). The second of 181 MW would complement the Lalackama 1 and 2 projects and would cost $200 million.

In August 2019, Enel inaugurated the Campos del Sol plant in the Chilean province of Copiapó, south of Antofagasta. In January, Enel connected a 475 MW lot of the São Gonçalo bifacial project. The company is to build the 220 MW Magdalena II project in Mexico, where Enel has a portfolio of at least 1.3 GW.

Chile has 5.6 GW of renewable solar capacity in operation at the end of 2019.
