Abolition of feed-in tariffs in China between 2020 and 2026
China will phase out feed-in tariffs for photovoltaic energy from 2020, according to the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA). Producers using their energy for self-consumption
will be the first to no longer have a feed-in tariff as of 2021. For the others, zone 1 feed-in tariffs will be abolished in 2022. The installations in zones 2 and 3 will be abolished before the end of 2026.
In 2017, the installations distributed reached 19.4 GW, up 350% over 2016.
In 2017, China had a world production share of 86.6% for wafers, 68% for cells, and 74.1% for PV panels according to the CPIA.
