US support for forecasting solar energy production
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has selected 8 study projects and allocated them as follows
12 M$. The purpose of the research is to improve the ability of grid operators to forecast solar energy production and make better use of grid infrastructure. The greater the accuracy, the better the grid can operate, the more efficient the use of existing infrastructure. This is because solar is becoming an increasingly important part of production.
