Tesla announces start-ups (HIT panels, solar tiles, roof installation)
Tesla has announced that at its Buffalo (near New York) plant, Panasonic's HIT thin-film PV panels have started production since
last summer, and that solar tiles had been produced there since December.
After validating the reliability of the glass tiles and the weather resistance when installed in the staff quarters, the installation of solar roofs for customers has started.
The equipping of the giga-plant is continuing. It is aiming for a production capacity of 1 GW of cells and panels per year.
