Ecoult has just received US$3.1 million to develop and market its Ultrabattery
Australian lead battery manufacturer Ecoult has just received US$3.1m to develop and market its Ultrabattery. This reinforces the US$8m received. The company has signed an agreement
production with the Indian manufacturer Exide Industries who will manufacture and distribute the UltraBattery in India and South Asia.
Ecoult has developed a hybrid lead-acid battery comprising an ultra-capacitor. It is manufactured in the United States by Ecoult's parent company, East Penn Manufacturing. This technology was originally developed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) with the support of ARENA 10 years ago.
