Price below 3 rupees ($0.044) per kWh in India at an auction

At an auction in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh for three 250 MW lots, the price offered fell for the first time below 3 rupees

per kWh at 2.97 rupees or US$0.044. This can be explained by an extension of bank loans (up to 19 years), by a fall in interest rates, which still stood at 9.5%, and by the 28-30% drop in panel prices in one year. In addition, there is a guarantee from the national electricity company (SECI) and easier disposal of the electricity produced.

Observers point out that the solar kilowatt-hour has become the cheapest of all kWh, whether from gas or wind power.
