Any new Engie electricity contract would be guaranteed by renewable energies certified by guarantees of origin.

From 26 October, Engie decided that all new electricity contracts would be covered by renewable energies (hydro, wind and solar), certified by guarantees of origin. "Green offers are no longer on the margins but are becoming the norm",

comments Isabelle Kocher, Managing Director of Engie. With this offer, Engie hopes to win 1 million net new customers in the next 12 to 18 months. The energy company currently has 3 million customers in France, representing just under 10% of the market. Engie generates around 50% of its electricity through its renewable installations in France; the remaining 50% is supplied by drawing rights on EDF's nuclear power plants.
