Japan's Tokuyama to sell its polysilicon production plant in Malaysia to Korea's OCI for $98 million

Japan's Tokuyama is to sell its polysilicon production plant in Malaysia to Korea's OCI for $98 million. The plant has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes but has suffered significant operating losses in 2014 and 2015 due to the sharp decline in demand for silicon. OCI is subject to low tariffs on its silicon exports to China.
