In the second quarter, deliveries of Japanese panels fell by 37% over the first quarter.
During the second quarter (April to June), deliveries of Japanese panels (at 1,366 MW) were down 37% compared with thefirst quarter of 2016 (when construction had to be completed in order to benefit from the advantageous feed-in tariff). Exports amounted to 181 MW; deliveries to the domestic market (1,185 MW) were down 40% in thefirst quarter and 26% in thesecond quarter of 2016, according to the Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA).
68% of the panels delivered (791 MW) were supplied by Japanese companies, of which 311 MW were manufactured abroad. Deliveries for large surfaces (> to 0.5 MW) accounted for 77% of the deliveries, for small surfaces 23%.
