Coating perovskite in rolls seems possible
In conjunction with Verico Technology, US start-up Verde Technologies has demonstrated that its perovskite coating processes can be used on roll-to-roll manufacturing lines.
The two companies have deposited a perovskite solution on a flexible substrate.
76 cm x 6 cm. Having succeeded on a small area, they believe the results are transferable to large commercial roll-to-roll systems. The perovskite cell technology is said to have a laboratory power conversion efficiency of over 21%.
The next technical step will be outdoor testing. Commercially, the company wants to replace end-of-life panels with more efficient ones, before expanding into other lightweight PV segments, such as large commercial mole and membrane roofs.
