Energy consumption in Germany in 2023

Solar power in Germany supplied 12% of energy consumption in 2023. Installed solar capacity has reached

79 GW according to Fraunhofer and 81 GW according to BSW by the end of 2023. It has overtaken wind power capacity by 69 GW. Coal-fired capacity is 37 GW, and gas-fired capacity is 35 GW.

TheFederal Network Agency estimates that installations in 2023 reached 14.3 GW (7.2 GW in 2022).
