New welding method based on eddy currents

Finnish researchers have tested a new welding method based on eddy currents for taping solar cells. They found that it reduced

significantly reduce the number of cracks and damage caused by thermomechanical stresses in the process.

They concluded that the new method is technically and commercially feasible, as well as competitive with traditional contact brazing techniques.
