Generating electricity in space and using it on Earth!
A satellite launched by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) has successfully received and transmitted solar energy back to Earth.
Researchers had tested a number of processes and components. The main one is the microwave array for the Low Earth Orbit Power Transfer Experiment (MAPLE).
