A new cell
Dutch researchers have developed a new crystalline solar cell based on poly-SiOx passivating contacts. This technology (based on poly-SiOx) makes it possible to obtain an efficiency of
20 %. In addition, 4T (T for terminals) perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells based on the poly-SiOx cell can achieve 28.1% efficiency. Meanwhile, 2T perovskite-silicon tandem devices can achieve 23.2%.
They claim that the crystalline silicon solar cell based on selective carrier passivation contacts (CSPC) composed of silicon and silicon monoxide (poly-SiOx) could be used for four-terminal (4T) and two-terminal (2T) tandem perovskite-silicon solar cells.
