New panel factory in heterojunction
China's Huasun has started manufacturing its new heterojunction panel factory in the Chinese province of Anhui. The new factory will have an annual capacity of
2.4 GW and will exclusively produce 182 mm bifacial HJT cells based on the company's cell technology with a power conversion efficiency of 25.3%.
It has also announced plans to invest in 7.5 GW of heterojunction lines. It has placed a corresponding order with Chinese heterojunction equipment supplier Maxwell. The new capacity is expected to come online in 2023.

Editor's note The main problem with heterojunction is its price. If the company comes up with a conversion efficiency of effectively 25.3%, a number of customers could be won over.
