Another method for predicting yield losses in strings
German researchers have developed an algorithm to predict and identify yield losses in strings or underperforming strings,
without additional weather data. This algorithm could be used to inspect panels, strings, devices, inverters and transformers.
It would be an alternative to the classical performance ratio analysis, which studies the relationship between actual and theoretical energy output in a PV plant. The algorithm takes as reference a PV system string with maximum output.
