HP Proled presents its new LED luminaires for public lighting
HP Proled is presenting its new LED luminaires for public, sports and industrial lighting. The luminaires operate using both solar and thermal energy.
The solar panels recharge the batteries built into the luminaires during the day. The solar panels recharge the batteries built into the luminaires during the day, enabling them to be lit at night. When the weather is bad, the battery lasts for 3 to 7 days. If the bad weather continues, the luminaire is connected to the power grid, so it draws its light from this source. This means substantial savings of almost 90%.

Editor's note Instead of switching off streetlights at night between 11pm and 5am, as a number of local authorities do, these LED streetlights can stay on all night. The only thing the company doesn't say is that, since lithium batteries have an energy conservation time of four hours, how do we deal with the period of lighting beyond four hours?
