The perception of renewable energies in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region

Engie Green published a CSA survey on the perception of renewable energies in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region from 15 to 26 February. The results show that the inhabitants of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté are strongly in favour of renewable energy,

96% of respondents are in favour of the development of renewable energies, and 48% are even "completely in favour", demonstrating a broad and solid support for these energies.

95% of respondents have a good image of solar energy;

91% for hydroelectricity;

75% for biogas;

66% for onshore wind power.

Those who are in favour of it put forward the protection of the environment. Solar energy is synonymous with the future and security in the eyes of the region's inhabitants:

88% agree that solar energy is an energy of the future,

76% that it contributes to France's security of supply,

69% that it creates jobs in France.

The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is home to 3 solar farms and 4 wind farms (46 masts) operated by Engie Green which supply electricity to more than 119,000 inhabitants per year. The construction of 5 new wind farms is planned this year for an additional installed capacity of over 50 MW. Engie Green has 400 MW of projects under development in the region.

Engie's green power plants provide €1.2 million in tax revenue per year

Editor's note This survey is similar to those conducted by Qualit'ENR in previous years. They reached identical or higher scores (depending on the wording of the question). It would also be necessary to know who was questioned because the opposition to onshore wind power is much more virulent than for solar power, and appears little here.
