China's National Energy Administration has declared

that 10.9 GW of new solar generating capacity had been installed in the country in the first two months of the year, bringing China's cumulative capacity to 316 GW.

The Chinese Jolywood will invest RMB 14 billion ($2.2 billion) to produce 200,000 tonnes of silicon metal and 100,000 tonnes of silicon. The plant will be built in two phases and will be fully operational by the end of 2024.

The silicon division of Xinte Energy, owned by TBEA, has announced that it will invest around RMB 17.6 billion ($2.8 billion) to increase its silicon capacity by a further 200,000 metric tonnes.

LONGi will purchase 203,000 tonnes of silicon from Tongwei by the end of December 2023. Based on the current price of silicon (245 RMB/kg), the contract would be worth 44.2 billion RMB (6.94 billion dollars), excluding taxes.

LONGi has increased the price of its G1 format wafers (158.75-223 mm). It costs RMB 5.35 ($0.745), i.e. RMB 0.10 more. The M6 and M10 formats remain unchanged.
