To develop the use of hydrogen, we will need pipelines
Long-distance hydrogen interconnections can become competitive with high-voltage power cables for transporting energy, provided that
that the fuel interconnections be longer than the current 350 km, and have a capacity of more than 1 GW, considering construction in 2050.
There are currently only 4,500 km of hydrogen pipelines in the world, compared with more than 160,000 km of oil and gas pipelines. Hydrogen pipelines require greater capacity than natural gas pipelines to transport the same amount of energy.
