Amtech Systems booked significant orders in the 4th fiscal quarter
The American equipment manufacturer Amtech Systems recorded significant orders in the fourth fiscal quarter ($23 million, bringing its backlog at the end of December to $31 million). In addition, $12 million was received in January.
Despite these orders, sales for the quarter to the end of December were only $22 million, down $28 million from the previous quarter. Despite a gross margin of 27% versus 23%, the net loss was $4.0 million versus $3.0 million, due to $2.3 million in research and development.
54% of sales were realized in Asia, America, 31% in Europe and 15% in Europe.
