22 GW of solar power installed in China at the end of August
According to the China Electricity Council, the country added 22.05 GW of solar generation capacity in the first eight months of the year, and 14.6 GW
of new wind power capacity installed in the same period. Industrial electricity consumption increased by 13.1% compared to the same period last year. The volume used specifically for solar manufacturing increased by 14.9% over the same period.
China's Zhonghuan raised prices on all of its 170µm thick wafers, a week after its competitor LONGi. It increased the M6 size by 3.1% to RMB 5.28 per piece ($0.82); the G12 size by 2% to RMB 8.33/piece ($1.29).
