The 2020 installations of solar thermal panels in Europe
According to EurObser'ER, in 2020, 1.9 million m² of solar thermal panels were installed in the EU-27. This corresponds to a capacity of 1.4 GWth. This is a
a decrease of 15% over the previous year.
The total surface area of collectors installed in the EU now stands at 54 million m², or 37.7 GWh, (+ 1.7% over 2019).
With a market of more than 120,000 m², France is in fifth place in Europe in 2020. The country is one of the six Member States whose national market has exceeded 100,000 m².
Photovoltaic-thermal collectors cover 242,000 m² in Europe. Germany is the largest market.
