In brief batteries: construction of the plant in Spain begins, battery in the Netherlands for Eneco, new McPhy site

Construction of the pilot plant begins

Phi4tech is building a new battery cell factory in the municipality of Noblejas, in the province of Toledo (Spain). It will be operational this year. Lithium will be extracted from the Las Navas mine, starting in early 2023.

The initial capacity of 300 MWh will be increased to 2 GWh in 2023, to 10 GWh in 2025 and eventually to 20 GWh in 2027. The cathodes for the battery cells will be manufactured in another plant currently under construction in the province of Cáceres, also in Extremadura.
