Risen Energy is planning to build a 3 GW cell and panel production plant in Malaysia. It will invest $10 billion over 15 years. It will be completed by the end of 2021 and start production in the first quarter of 2022. The company also wants to build solar plants in Australia.

Malaysia is already home to the world's largest producers of photovoltaic systems, including JinkoSolar, Longi Solar, Hanwha Q Cell and First Solar.

Xinte Energy plans to build a 100,000 tonne silicon production facility in Inner Mongolia. JA Solar and JinkoSolar have decided to invest RMB 315 million ($49 million) each to hold a 9% stake in the plant and, above all, to have privileged access to the silicon produced
