Swiss company Leclanché has developed a new generation of battery components
lithium ion batteries (called M3) for high power consumption applications. They feature a very high cycle life of up to 20,000 cycles (LTO) or up to 8,000 cycles (G/NMC).
The highly automated plant will produce six times its current capacity, reaching 60,000 components per year when fully operational. This places Leclanché among the first manufacturers to produce cells and modules on a large scale in Europe.

French company Forsee Power starts production of batteries for light electric vehicles in India. The company will expand its battery range to large vehicles in 2023 and then increase its production capacity in India to 1 GWh by 2025

Nanograf of the US has increased the capacity of lithium-ion batteries (18650 size) by 12% by developing a silicon oxide anode material. This allows higher densities than previous batteries
