Production start-up at Meyer Burger

Meyer Burger has officially opened its first new manufacturing plant in Germany,

located in Thalheim, Bitterfeld-Wolfen. The second plant in Frieberg is due to open on 26 May. The initial capacity is 0.4 GW and is to be ramped up quickly, with a target of 1.4 GW by 2023.

Meyer Burger's CEO has already warned that an investment of 5 to 6 billion euros may be needed to become globally competitive.
