In Germany, south-facing solar installations are in the minority
In Germany, solar installations that are not south-facing have become the vast majority
over the last twenty years from 39% to 58%. Over the period, Fraunhofer ISE found that east-facing panels increased from 1% to 7%, west-facing installations from 3% to 9%, east-west systems from 1% to 6%.
The angle of installation varies greatly between systems with a tendency to reduce the angle of installation. The number of installations with an angle of less than 20° doubled between 2000 and 2019 to 19%.
