Solar power plant to replace a gas-fired power plant to manage the network

One of Chile's largest solar power plants, Luz del Norte, built by First Solar, is approved to provide ancillary grid services on a commercial basis. The installation

achieved better results than gas turbine technology. This solar power plant is the first large-scale PV plant to provide commercial grid backup services in the world.
