India's solar industry wants more tariffs

The Indian solar energy association, AISIA, is calling for the 20% tariff proposed by the Indian government to be raised to 20% in early summer,

50 % on imported cells and panels. Indian producers say they need additional protection to enable manufacturers to launch production facilities.

A month ago, Fitch Solutions warned that the price of imported components was rising due to tariffs and safeguard duties. The increased price of components would raise the price of installations, making many solar power plant projects unprofitable.
