An assessment of the energy situation by IRENA
Global investment in renewable energy is steadily increasing. They were less than €50 million per year in 2004. They have reached 288 billion dollars in 2018, 90% of which will go into photovoltaic solar and wind power. Despite this expansion, investment in coal and gas-fired power generation capacity is still three times higher than in renewable energy.
