Test on thin layers at sea
In the Netherlands, Solliance scientists are testing a floating installation using flexible thin films rather than panels. The aim is to check whether such an installation would be able to adapt to the fluctuations of the sea,
rather than resisting the waves. Another experiment in Holland is looking at the effect of algae growth, pollution, salt deposits and meteorology on a floating system based on thin layers. The effects will be compared with those of a floating test installation (see photo).
