India's good performance in the 2019 export of PV products

India's exports of solar cells and panels increased by 157% in eight months, amounting to INR 13.3 billion

($187 million), over the April to November period. Exports to the United States tripled over the period. Turkey and Belgium are the two main export markets.

The Indian photovoltaic industry is still in its initial start-up phase. Production is set to ramp up. In two or four years time, it will compete with Chinese products on international markets, provided that progress is made in technology and productivity.
