New purchase contract in Italy
Italian steelmaker Acciaierie Venete to purchase solar energy from Swiss energy trader DXT Commodities
which will be purchased from an unsubsidised photovoltaic plant in Italy under a five-year power purchase agreement. The quantity is not specified.
The Italian solar market is seeing an increasing number of announcements of private solar purchase contracts and new installations taking advantage of grid parity. However, the Italian market is still mainly driven by rooftop PV.
